Title |
Instrument of Sasine (defective) under the hand of Patrick Dennistoun, notary public, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in letters of disposition (dated at Eister Binny 18th June 1652) by Alexander Hamiltoun of Binny, whereby he granted to his friends, Sir Robert Drumond of Meidhope, knight, Sir Alexander Livingstoun of Dalderse, knight, William Stewart of Hesilsyid and John Dundas of Philpstoun, who had become cautioners for him to his creditors, for their relief, and for the security and behoof of the creditors for whom they are not obliged, the town and lands of Eister Binny, Eatrig, Pardevin, Eglischmachan and the kirklands thereof, Meikill Blaickburne, Litill Blaickburne and Paddoschaw; redeemable by the granter and his heirs relieving the said cautioners at the hands of his creditors, and by paying the creditors for whom the said cautioners are not obliged. Sasine given upon the ground of said lands, on 21st June 1652, by Thomas Meikill in Waterstoune, bailie of the granter, to James Strachane in Waterstoune, attorney for the said Sir Robert Drumond and others |

Description |
Witnesses to the disposition, James Carmichaell of Pottoschaw, Mr. James Heart, servitor of the said Alexander Hamiltoun, Andro Hamiltoun, natural brother of the said Alexander Hamiltoun and James Denniestoun, son of Patrik Denniestoun, notary. Witnesses, to the sasine, William Hering of the Thrie-myle-hous, James Meikill, "Eister", and James Meikill, "Waster" in Waterstoune and William Reid there. The letters of disposition are written by Hew Patrsoun, servitor to Richard Guthrie, writer, Edinburgh.
Alexander Hamiltoun in respect of his sickness and infirmity signs the disposition with his hand touching the pens of James Balloche and Patrick Denniestoun, notaries public.
