Title |
Letters of Horning under the signet of Charles I. obtained at the instance of Alexander Home, lawful son of the late Sir Patrick Home of Ayttoun, knight, charging Patrick Abernethie in Dunce, Andro Quhytlaw there, Mungo Hopper in Coldinghame, James Hopper there and James Craw in Auldcambus to make payment to him, as donator to the escheat and liferent of his father, of the sums specified in a decreet pronounced on the above date by the Lords of Council and Session. The following names are also mentioned: Dame Elizabeth Edmestoun, spouse of Sir Patrick, Mungo Hopper, elder, in Coldinghame, and Philip Craw in Nether Ayttoun, all deceased. Description |
Put up with Letters: Certificates by William Dickisoune, messenger, that he charged Abernethie on 22 March, witnesses, Thomas Balfour in Duns and Neill Logane, servitor to Captain Lieutenant Alexander Home; and that on 10th May he denounced him at the Cross of Duns, witnesses, the said Thomas Balfour and George Henriesoune in Puttin Mill.
In dorso:- Note that on 22nd March Dickisoune charged Abernethie and Quhytlaw witnesses as above and on 31st March Craw and James Hopper, witnesses, James Grersoun, John Home of Boepark, and David Cleghorn. |
