Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Patrick Law, presbyter of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating a Precept from Chancery (dated at Edinburgh 27 October 1507) directed to the sheriff and bailies of Are for infefting John Mur of Achindrane as heir of James Mur of Achindrane, his grandfather, in the eight merk land of old extent of Monyhagane and Keirmeyn, with pertinents, lying in King's-Kile (held of the Crown) and in the ten pound lands of old extent of Sanquhamur, with pertinents, lying in Kile-Stewart (held of James, prince and stewart of Scotland); and commanding them to take security for 32 merks of the ferms of Monyhagane and Keirmeyn and 32 merks of relief duty and for 24 merks of the ferms of Sanquharmur and 24 merks of relief duty, the said lands having been one year and three months in the hands of the king and prince without sasine having been taken. Sasine given by William Wallace, son and heir apparent of Mathew Wallace of Crago, sheriff and bailie depute of Hugh Campbell of Loudone, knight, sheriff of Are, on 9th November 1507, of the lands of Monyhagane and Keirmeyn |
