Title |
Bond of Relief by John, Earl of Wigtoune, and John, Lord Flemyng, his eldest lawful son, whereby they bound themselves to warrant and relieve James, Lord Levingstoune of Almount, of the obligation undertaken by him in a bond of cautionery (dated 3 January 1637) to relieve William Levingstoune of Kilsyth and his tutors and curators of (1) of the sum of 43000 (sic) merks due to the following persons, viz:- the Lord of Dalzell (6000), Alexander Levingstoun of Pantaskane (4000), the heirs of John Ker, Writer, (4000), Thomas Flemyng in Jaw (1800), James Adie in Jawcraig (2400), John Calendar in Falkirk (1500), the heirs of James Hamiltoune of Parkley (5000) and Mr. James Raith of Edmestone (8300) and (2) the sum of 9850 merks, for which the lands of Blaknes were disponed to the Earl of Wigtoune and him by Alexander, Earl of Linlithgow, except in so far as he has undertaken payment of said sums under a contract anent the disposition of the lands and baronies of Calendar and Falkirk.
