Instrument of Resignation and Sasine (injured by damp) under the hand of Clement Edzer, clerk of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, narrating that James Muire, burgess of Air, procurator for Nicol Mirrie, son and heir of the late Thomas Mirrie, burgess of said burgh (duly constituted by procuratory inserted in letters of disposition dated 17 June 1636 granted by the said Nicol Mirrie to John Purveyance, merchant, burgess of said burgh) resigned an acre of land, lying in that portion of the lands of the Sands of said burgh between the . . . . [? occupied by] Kentigern Osburne and an acre of land formerly the property of William Resyde on the north and by an acre of land of John Garvane on the south, into the hands of John Knycht, one of the bailies of the burgh of Air, in favor of the said John Purveyance, his heirs and assignees, to whom the bailie gave sasine upon the ground of said acre on 16 July 1636: to be held of the provost, bailies, council and community of the burgh of Air in feu-farm for payment of 12 pence annually |
