Title |
Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of Clement Edzer, clerk, of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, narrating that John Kennedy, notary in Air, procurator for Nicol Mirrie, grandson and heir of the late Thomas Mirrie, merchant, burgess of Air, (duly constituted by procuratory inserted in letters of disposition, dated 17 March 1636, granted by the said Nicol Mirrie to James Kennedy, merchant, burgess of said burgh) resigned (1) 4 "riggis" of land with the "heidriges" belonging thereto at the east end thereof (occupied by Margaret Adame) extending to an acre of land, lying within the territory of the burgh of Air in the lands called the Laiche Sandis, between the lands of John G.........., sailor, on the north, the lands of Robert Gordowne, merchant, on the south, and the Hillis of Air on the west; and (2) 2 particates of land with the "heidrigges" pertaining thereto at the east end of the same (occupied by Margaret Adame) extending to 2 roods of land, lying on the south side of the lands of the said Robert Gordowne and the lands of the late William Campbell called Lange Williame, into the hands of John Kennedy, one of the bailies of said burgh, in favor of the said James Kennedy, his heirs and assignees, to whom the bailie gave sasine upon the ground of said lands on [17?] March 1636: To be held of the provost, bailies, council and community of said burgh in feu-farm for payment of 18 shillings Scots annually |
