Title |
Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of George Mason, clerk of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, narrating that William Huntar, merchant, burgess of Air, procurator for Archibald Johnistoun, second lawful son of the late James Johnistoun, formerly bailie of said burgh, (duly constituted by procuratory inserted in letters of disposition, dated 3 January 1633, granted by the said Archibald Johnistoun, with consent of Jonet Wallace, his spouse, to John Knicht, late bailie of the said burgh), resigned two acres of land pertaining to the said Archibald Johnestoun, with pertinents, (formerly occupied by Patrick Gluvar), lying contiguous in that portion of the lands of the Sands of said burgh called the Mure and Commoun, opposite the chapel of St. Leonards, between the lands formerly the property of James Bannatyne and Adam Stewart on the south, and the lands of the late John Jamesone and the common king's highway on the north, into the hands of Robert Gordoun, one of the bailies of said burgh, in favour of the said John Knicht, his heirs and assignees, to whom the bailie gave sasine accordingly upon the ground of said lands on 26 August 1633.
