Title |
Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of George Mason, clerk of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, narrating that William Huntar, merchant, burgess of Air, procurator for James Johnistoun, burgess of Air, eldest son and heir of the late James Johnistoun burgess and formerly bailie of said burgh, (duly constituted by procuratory inserted in letters of renunciation, dated 24th September 1632, granted by the said James Johnistoun to John Knicht, late bailie of said burgh), resigned the ten shilling land of old extent of Twa-stane-croce, with meadow and pertinents (formerly occupied by William Ker, John McMartine, younger, and James Mure, co-burgesses of Air) lying in the Burrowfeild of said burgh and sheriffdom of Air, into the hands of Robert Gordoun, one of the bailies of said burgh, in favour of the said John Knicht, his heirs and assignees, to whom the bailie gave sasine accordingly upon the ground of said lands on 26th August 1633: To be held of the provost, bailies, council and community of the said burgh in feu-farm for payment of 5 shillings Scots yearly |
