Title |
Disposition by Williame Sterling of Achyle, with consent of Elyzabeth Lundy, his spouse, whereby in consideration of certain sums of money paid to him by James Sterling, fiar of Achyle, his son, he bound and obliged himself to infeft him and Margaret Haldan, his spouse, and the longer liver of them in conjunct infeftment, and the heirs male lawfully gotten or to be gotten betwixt them, whom failing, the nearest and lawful heirs male and assignees of the said James Sterling whomsoever, in (1) the lands of Balwill, extending to a five merkland of old extent, with the manor-place etc., the lands of Wodend with the wood thereof and the lands of Ballairdes Over and Nether, with the miln thereof, lying by annexation within the barony of Glenneglis, parish of Drymen and sheriffdom of Perth, and (2) the lands of Kepdowrie lying within the said barony and sheriffdom: To be held of the granter's immediate superior for payment of £40 Scots yearly. He also constituted him his cessioner and assignee in and to (1) Letters of Disposition (dated 4th August 1630) by Archibald, Lord of Lorne, to the granter and his spouse of the above lands, and (2) Letters of Disposition (dated 15th June 1629) by Johne Haldan of Glenneglis, with consent of Katherine Weymes, his spouse, in favor of Lord Lorne: With procuratory of resignation for resigning said lands into the hands of Archibald, Lord of Lorne. Further, he sold to his said son the whole steelbow seed corns and "ky" on said lands (viz: 20 bolls corn and 12 "ky") and constituted him his cessioner and assignee in and to the maills and ferms of said lands for crop and year 1631 and subsequent years.
