Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of George Masoun, common clerk of the burgh of Air, notary public, narrating that Robert Gordoun, one of the bailies of said burgh, gave sasine to James Johnestoun in Air, as nearest and lawful heir of James Johnestoun, burgess of Air, his father, of the ten shilling land of old extent of Twa-stane-croce, with the sike, meadow and pertinents thereof (formerly pertaining to Adam Johnestoun), lying in the Burrowfield of said burgh and sheriffdom of Air, in which the said James Johnestoun, elder, was infeft by Instrument of Sasine (dated 26th May 1600) under the hand of John Masoun, clerk of Air: To be held of the provost, baillies, council and community of said burgh in feu-farm for payment to them yearly of the sum of 5 shillings Scots with multures and other duties and services used and wont. Done upon the ground of said lands on 31st May 1631 |
