Title |
Charter by Sir James Levingstoune of that Ilk, knight, colonel and one of the gentlemen of the king's bedchamber whereby in implement of a contract (of even date herewith) entered into between him, on the one part, and John Cowane, merchant, burgess of Stirling, on the other part, and for payment of the sum of 11,000 merks Scots contained therein, he granted to the said John Cowane and his heirs and assignees whomsoever (under reversion) an annual-rent of 1100 merks Scots furth of his lands and barony of Levingstoune, with manor place, mill etc. the kirklands of Levingstoune, and templar lands of Newzeirfeild, lying in the parish of Levingstoune and sheriffdom of Linlithgow: To be held de me for payment of one penny in name of blench-ferm: With precept of sasine addressed to James Fleyming, the granter's chamberlain of his barony of Levingstoune.
