Title |
Charter of Sale by Mr. James Lintoune of Newzeirfeild, heritable proprietor of the lands aftermentioned, and Francis Lintoune, his immediate elder brother, son and heir served and retoured to the late Mr. Robert Lintoune of Newzeirfeild, advocate, their father, for his interest, whereby in implement of letters of disposition granted by them, with consent of Thomas, Earl of Hadingtoune (at whose instance the said Francis was interdicted) and of Hew Peiblis, writer, (by whom letters of inhibition were obtained and executed against the said Mr. James) to Colonel Sir James Levingstoune of that Ilk, knight, one of the gentlemen of the king's bedchamber, and for certain sums of money contained in the said letters paid to the said Mr. James and his creditors, they granted to the said Sir James Levingstoune and his heirs male and assignees whomsoever (1) the templar lands of Newzeirfeild with houses, mills, woods, fishings, coals etc. the privilege of free regality within the bounds of said lands, and commonty and common pasturage in and upon the moor of Drumschorline, lying within the sheriffdom of Linlithgow and (2) the kirklands of Levingstoune with the teind sheaves thereof included which had never been separated from the stock (formerly possessed by the said Mr. Robert Lintoune, father of the granters, John Clerksoune and Thomas Clerksoune, his tenants, and now by the late Sir John Peirie and Helen Clerksoune, relict of John Lochcoittis) lying within said sheriffdom: To be held de nobis for payment of one penny Scots in name of blench-farm: With precept of Sasine.
