Title |
Charter by Colonel Sir James Levingstoune of that Ilk, knight, one of the gentlemen of the king's bedchamber, whereby in implement of a contract (of even date herewith GD86/513 states it was dated at Bus and Edinburgh 14 September and 17 November 1629.) entered into between him, on the one part, and David Joynkine, merchant, burgess of Edinburgh, and Margaret Speir, his spouse, and for payment of the sum of 9000 merks Scots contained therein he granted to them and the longer liver of them in conjunct infeftment and to the heirs lawfully procreated or to be procreated between them, whom failing, to the heirs of the said David and his assignees whomsoever, an annualrent of 900 merks Scots furth of his lands and barony of Levingstoune, lying within the sheriffdom of Lynlithgow: To be held de me for payment of one penny Scots in name of blench-farm: With precept of sasine addressed to James Fleyming in Brighous, servitor of the granter.
