Title |
Certified Copy of Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of Henry Strathauchyn, clerk, of the diocese of St. Andrews, notary public, narrating that William Todryk, one of the bailies of the burgh of Edinburgh, passed to the tenement of Martin Huntar, lying under the Nether Bow of said burgh on the south side of the High Street (vici regii), between the tenement of the late James Watsoun on the east and the land of the late Mr. Robert Craik on the west, where John Boiswell, burgess of said burgh, resigned into his hands (1) one-half of his lands with pertinents lying within said tenement on the west side of the trans thereof, between the land of the said Martin on the north and his other land built up to the east gable of the same on the south, and (2) one-third part of his whole yard or waste land: whereupon the said bailie gave sasine thereof to Luke Saidlare, burgess of Edinburgh, and Jonet, his spouse, and the longer liver of them and the heirs lawfully procreated or to be procreated between them, whom failing to the lawful and nearer heirs or assignees of the said Luke whomsoever, in terms of a charter to be made to them thereupon. The seal of the bailie was appended to the original instrument in token of the execution of his office. Witnesses, Sir William Bar and Sir William Lambe, priests, John Adamson and William Lyndesay.
