Title |
Instrument of Resignation under the hand of John Ker, clerk, of the diocese of St. Andrews, notary public, narrating that James Robertsone, servitor of Alexander, Earl of Linlithgow, procurator for James Hardie, chirurgeon, burgess of the Canongate, and Elizabeth Quhippo, his spouse, duly constituted by letters of procuratory, dated at Edinburgh 27 June 1622, resigned an acre of land of the dominical lands of Levingstoun commonly called Smythe-hill, with houses, buildings, tofts, crofts and particate of land commonly called the Lint-rig, lying at the back of the yard, between the land commonly called Blak-Edieflat on the east, the "kirkstyll" of the church of Levingstoun on the west, the common way leading to Calder on the south, and the said dominical lands on the north within the barony of Lewingstoun and sheriffdom of Linlithgow, into the hands of the Earl as superior ad perpetuam remanentiam.
