Title |
Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of John Masoun, common clerk of the burgh of Air, notary public, narrating that Adam Richie, the last provost of Air and burgess thereof who was infeft in the tenement aftermentioned, in implement of letters of disposition (of the date of these presents) granted by him to Alan Logane, shoemaker, burgess of said burgh, and for certain sums of money paid to him by the said Alan, resigned his tenement of land called the Auld Tour, under and above, back and fore, with tower, yard and pertinents, formerly pertaining to William Cathcart of Carbestoun, Henry Stewart of Barskemyng and Hugh Wallace of Meynfurd, lying on the east side of the High Street of Air, between the tenement formerly the property of Dominick (?) Laithes, William Gibsoun and Robert Watsoun, now of Robert Miller, merchant, on the north, the tenement formerly the property of the laird of Cragy now of George Angus, on the east, the vennel leading to the stone quarry of the burgh on the south, and the High Street on the west, into the hands of Donald Smyth, one of the bailies of the burgh, in favour of the said Alan Logane, to whom the bailie gave sasine accordingly: To be held of the king in free burgage for service of burgh used and wont. Done upon the ground of said tenement on 10th November 1620 |
