Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of James Don, clerk, of the diocese of Dumblane, notary public, following upon and narrating a precept from the chancery of King James VI. (dated at Edinburgh 5 July 1619 a.r 52 et 17) addressed to his steward of Menteith and his deputes, commanding them to infeft James Edmonstoun as nearest and lawful heir of Archibald Edmonstoun of Ballintone, his father, in the six merklands of old extent of Cessintullie, otherwise called Ballintone, with houses, yards etc. lying in the stewartry of Menteith and sheriffdom of Perth, and to take security for (a) £5 Scots and certain marts for the feu-ferms of said lands which were in the king's hands since Whitsunday 1619 without sasine being recovered, and (b) £20 Scots and a double of the marts for a double of the said feu-ferms which extend annually to £10 with the marts. Sasine given by David Haldane, steward depute of said stewartry, upon the ground of said lands, on 19 July 1619, to the said James Edmonstoun personally present and accepting |

Witnesses to the sasine, James Dog of Ballingrew, James Dog fiar of Ballingrew, his elder son, Robert Muschete, notary public in Spitteltoun, Andrew Mitschell in Ballintone and George Mitschell, there. Registered in the Particular Register of Sasines for Stirlingshire on 24th July 1619 by Mr. John Rollok, keeper of said Register, Vol. 1, fol. 302. |
