Letters of Tutory under the testimony of the great seal of King James VI narrating that by inquest made by his bailie of Cunynghame and retoured to chancery it was found that Christian Cunynghame, brother of the late David Cunynghame of Robertland and uncle of Alexander Cunynghame, lawful son of the said David, was nearest agnate to the said Alexander: He therefore constituted him lawful tutor to the said Alexander and administrator of his affairs until he became of age, accounting to him for his intromissions with his estate.
