Certified Extract from the books of the Acts of Parliament of Act of Ratification in favour of Sir Gedioun Murray of Elibank, knight, and Williame Murray and Walter Murray, his sons, ratifying (1) Letters of Gift, under the Privy Seal GD86/433; (2) Letters of Gift under the Privy Seal [dated at New Market 1st February 1616] granting to Sir Gedioun liberty to bring 30 tuns of wine yearly within the kingdom of Scotland without payment of duty; and (3) Letters of Gift under the Privy Seal (dated at Quhythall 24 December 1616) granting to him a yearly pension of the feuferms etc. (viz: 3 chalders 12 bolls bear, 29¼ capons, 105 score and 6 "pultrie", 300 pairs of "dowes", 1000 cherries and £40:10:- Scots money) due to the king furth of the town, lands and mains of Ballincreif and milne thereof, lying within the constabulary of Hadingtoun and sheriffdom of Edinburgh, which formerly pertained to Sir Archibald Murray of Darnhall, knight, and now to Sir Gedioun.
