Title |
Letters of Gift Under the Privy Seal of King James VI whereby, with consent of Johne, Earl of Mar, Lord Erskine and Garrioche, thesaurar, comptroller, and collector of the New Augmentations of his kingdom of Scotland, and of the remanent Lords of his Privy Council, his commissioners, he ratifies and approves of his letters of gift and pension under the privy seal (dated at Quhythall 20 February 1610) Vol 78-282 granting to Sir Gedeoun Murray of Elibank, knight, depute thesaurar, comptroller and collector, a yearly pension of £1200 Scots, one half of which is to be paid by the thesaurar from the casualties of the kingdom and the other half by the comptroller from the rents thereof: Further, he with consent foresaid of new grants to Sir Gideon during his lifetime, and after his decease to William Murray and Walter Murray, his sons, equally, and to the longer liver of them, the above pension of £1200 Scots and in augmentation thereof a further sum of £1200 Scots yearly, beginning the first payment of the augmented pension of £2400 Scots at Martinmas 1616.
