Title |
Procuratory of Resignation by Mr. Allexander Levingstoun, advocate in Edinburgh, at whose instance the lands aftermentioned were apprised, with consent of James Ballantyne (Ballendene) of Spittell, heritable proprietor of said lands, whereby in implement of his part of a contract and appointment (dated at Edinburgh and Sanct Androis 14 and 20 March 1616) entered into between him with consent foresaid, on the one part, and David Wemys of Fengask, on the other part, he constituted Mr. Robert Makgill, advocate, his procurator for resigning the temple lands of Coleistoun with pasturage, commonties etc., lying in the parish of Scony, regality of Sanct Androis and sheriffdom of Fyff, into the hands of Thomas, Lord Bynning, Secretary of this Realm, superior of said lands, in favour of the said David Wemys and the heirs male lawfully gotten or to be gotten of his body, whom failing, Harie Wemyss of Fudie, his brother german, and the heirs male to be lawfully gotten of his body, whom failing, the said David's heirs and assignees whomsoever. Signed by the granter, consenter and witnesses. Seal of the granter attached. Three cinquefoils (gilly flowers) [? within a double tressure], a mascle at fess point. Crest. On a helmet with mantling two serpents fessways nowed. Legend: A.M.L. |
