Title |
Charter of Confirmation by Mr. Robert Williamsoune of Mureistoun, writer, confirming a charter of sale (dated at Edinburgh 13 July 1594) by William Ballingall of that Ilk whereby in implement of a contract (dated 8 June 1594) entered into between him on the one part, and James Bellendene of Spittell for himself and on behalf of Mariot Spens, his spouse, on the other part, he with consent of Annabell Dudingstoun, his spouse, granted to them and the longer liver of them in conjunct infeftment and the heirs lawfully procreated or to be procreated between them, whom failing, to the heirs and assignees of the said James whomsoever, his templarlands of Colistoun with tofts crofts etc. lying in the sheriffdom of Fyffe: To be held a me of James Sandilandis, Lord of Torphichene, in fee, for payment to him on the morrow after the Feast of St. Michael at Tempilhill near the burgh of Cupar of 12 pennies Scots in name of feuferm: With precept of sasine addressed to Robert Alexander in Manflorye. Moreover the said superior grants that this confirmation shall be as valid and effectual as if granted before the death of the said James Bellendene and the taking of sasine on the charter. Witnesses to charter confirmed, John Zoung, servitor of Andrew Hering of Glasclune, William Scot, son of Nicol Scot, burgess of Edinburgh, Mr. Robert Zoung, brother of Thomas Zoung, writer, and David Walker, servitor of John Haliday, advocate. Witnesses to the charter of confirmation, Mr. Peter Kynloche, writer, James Williamsoune, servitor of the granter and Alexander Chrystesoune, notary public. Signed by the granter. Seal attached: Per pale. Dexter: A thistle stalked and leaved. Sinister: A saltire between two mullets in flank and one in base and a mascle in chief. Legend: S.M.Roberti Williamson. Cf.
