Title |
Contract of Sale between Archibald Edmestone of Ballintone and Mariorie Edmestone, his spouse, with consent of Alexander Bruce, their son-in-law, and Mariorie Edmestone, their daughter, spouse of the said Alexander, on the one part, and Stevin Hardie, tailor in Coldoche, on the other part, whereby the first parties in consideration of the sum of 400 merks Scots paid to them by the second party bound and obliged themselves to infeft him and his heirs and assigness whomsoever in the eastmost part of their lands of Kers of Ballintone lying within the stewartry of Menteithe and sheriffdom of Perthe, bounded and marched as follows:- "the merche betuix the lands of Craigheid and Ballintone on the eist, the got or seuche on the west syde of the Brumedyk in the said Kers on the west, the hiegait and fure or litle seuche or got on the north syde of the Brumerig of the Brumewarde on the northe, and the Wattir of Gudie on the southe pairtes"; redeemable by the first parties on payment of the principal sum in terms of a Letter of Reversion to be granted by Hardie. The Letter of Tack (dated 4th June 1610) granted by the first parties in favour of Hardie and Stevin Forsythe in Coldoche of the said lands for 19 years from Whitsunday 1611 at a yearly rent of 54 merks Scots and 6 hens is to be excepted from the warrandice granted in the charter and the said yearly duties are assigned to Hardie for the unexpired period of the tack.
