Title |
Instrument of Sasine (much injured by damp) under the hand of William McKerrell, clerk of the sheriffdom of Air, notary public, following upon and narrating a Precept of Sasine (dated at Edinburgh 2nd November 1607) by Prince Henry, Steward of Scotland, addressed to his sheriff and bailies of Air, for infefting David Cunynghame of Robertland, as heir of the late Sir David Cunynghame of Robertland, knight, his father, in the 2½ merklands of Robertland, with the tower, fortalice and manor place thereof, 3 merklands of Ovirlochrige, 6 merklands of Cassiltoun Over and Nether with the mill, 14 shilling lands of Horsmure, 4 shilling lands of Lochsyd, with the mill called Lochmylne and astricted multures, 11 merklands of Lochrige, 4 merklands of Braidieland, 20 shilling lands of Spittell, 3 merk 5 shilling and 9 penny lands of Wattirland, Halkett and Hessilbank with mill, the 6 merkland of Foulschaw with mill and the 2½ merk lands of Hoilhous, all lying in the bailliary of Cunnynghame and sheriffdom of Air; and commanding them to take security for £87: 2: 6 Scots of relief for the said lands of Robertland, Ovirlochrige, Cassiltoun Over and Nether, Horsmure, Lochsyd, Lochrige, Braidieland, Spittell, Wattirland, Halkett, and Hessilbank, extending altogether to a £14:10:5 land, £8 Scots for a double of the feu-farm of the lands of Foulschaw and £6:13: 4 Scots for a double of the feu-farm of Hoilhous. Registered in the Secretary's Register for the sheriffdom of Ayr on 1st November 1607, Vol. 4, fol. 41. The writ is almost indecipherable. |
