Title |
Copy of Charter under the great seal of James VI, with consent of Mr. John Prestoun of Pennycoke, Collector General and Treasurer of the New Augmentation, granting to James Lawsone, son of the late John Lawson in Rucar, the five shilling lands of old extent of Over Dargavell called Bellisfield in the sheriffdom of Drumfries, between the marsh called Megarmire on the north and another marsh called Labordag on the south, which formerly pertained to the Abbey of Melrose: To be held de nobis, rendering therefor 5 shillings Scots as the ancient duties of the said lands and 12 pence Scots in augmentation of the rental.
