I wes put to that pointt that nathing could satisfie bot haill payment and therfor I raid to Corsmuchel (?) evin quhen I wes deand in the gravell and borrowit it fra ane McCairtney vpon David Welscheis informatioun and swa hes payit zour haill sowme and man pay him within xx dayis agane". ...... "The gravell slayis me" contains references to John of the Kirkgait, George Maxwell, William Williamsoun, Robert Heres of Barnebarrocht and Christine, the writer's sister.
