Title |
Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of John Masoun, town clerk of Air, notary public, narrating that William Rysyd, merchant, burgess of Air, resigned his four acres of land with their pertinents, lying upon the Sands of the burgh of Air, vizt:- (a) Two acres lying contiguous in the upper portion of the lands of the Sands, which stretches from the barns and kilns formerly the property of John Makquatty to the turfery (glebaria) of Spittelbog, between the lands of the late William Roger on the north, and the said turfery of Spittelbog on the south; (b) other two acres lying in the lower portion of the lands of the Sands nearest the sea, one acre lying between the acre of land now the property of William Garven on the south and the land now the property of William Gottray on the north, and the other acre lying between the lands of the late William Roger on the south, and the lands of the late Robert Rankene on the north, into the hands of John Osburne, one of the bailies of the burgh of Air, in favour of Quintin Rysyd, his fourth son, lawfully procreated between him and Elizabeth Johnestoun, his spouse, to whom the bailie gave sasine upon the ground of said lands on 19th April 1604, under reservation of the liferent of the resigner: To be held of the provost, bailies, council and community of the burgh of Air for payment of 4/ - Scots yearly, and the dues services used and wont |
