Title |
Feu Charter by Mr. David Lyndesay, bishop of Ross, whereby, for augmentation of his rental, he granted in feu-farm to Alexander Moresoun, indweller in Leyth, that piece of land of the churchyard of Nig (presently occupied by the said Alexander Moresoun) measuring in length 52 feet and in breadth 24 feet, on which a dwelling house and stable are now being built, lying between the burn of Pitcany on the east, the common highway on the south, the passage of the church of Nig on the West, and the said churchyard on the north, within the parish and barony of Nig and sheriffdom of Inverness: To be held de nobis in feu-farm for payment of 6/8d Scots yearly: With precept of Sasine addressed to Finlay Mansoun, minister at Nig. Witnesses, John Fowlertoun, feuar of Kimaber [Kinnaber], Mr. Hugh Dowglas and Alexander Montgumrie, servitors of the granter, Thomas Davidsoun in Edinburgh, George Norvell, notary, and Mr. Jerome Lyndsay, Admiral Depute, son of the granter. Signed by the granter and five of the witnesses. The granter's seal is attached: 1st and 4th A fess chequy 2nd and 3rd - a lion rampant debruised by a ribbon.
