Title |
Instrument under the hand of Robert Lorymar, Master of Arts and Bachelor in Decrees, presbyter of the diocese of St. Andrews, notary public, narrating that Elisabeth Monypenny, lady of Dunennow, of her own free will placed herself and all her goods, moveable and immoveable, and especially her lands of Dunennow and her terce from Lucheris, Pytmuly, Bawat and Ballaly, with all victual, chattels, utensils and domicils in any way pertaining to her, under the management of Alexander Conynghame of Polmays; and in token thereof she bestowed her goods in the town of Dunennow on the said Alexander by delivery of the staff she was then carrying in her hand, in terms of the following Indenture entered into between them, viz:- This endentour maid at Dunennow the xviii day off the moneth of August the zer off gode a thowsand four hundreth awche and six zeris be twex honorable personys, that is to say, Elisabecht Monypenny, lady off Dunennow, one the ta part, ande Alexander Cwnyngham of Polmays, dowthirsone to the said lady, one the tother part, that it is apowtyt ande accordyt ande als finaly endyt betuex the said personys as eftyr folowys, that is to say, that the said Alexander sall susten the said lady in mete and drink and clacht als honestly as efferis for all the dais of hyr lyffe ande sewyn personis wycht hyr as serwandis, the quhilkis personys salbe serwandis till the said Alexander and mak fedelite till be lele and trew till hyme, and ane off the sewin personys tyll be chosyne be the said Alexander the quhilk salbe doar till hyme in hys absence and till giff hyme compt als oft as him ples: and at the saide Alexander sall ger do hyr exequies as efferis giffe scho hapnys till deces forow hyme; and at our he sall pay the said lady is awande, the quhilkis dettys folowys, that is to say, threty sewyn povndis sex schyllyngis aucht pennys till Schir Wilzame Boswell, till Besse Mor twa lib., till Wate Zoung threty twa schillyngis sex pennys, tyll the persoune off Dunennow twenty schillings, till Johne Boswell twenty schillings, till Thomme of Wemys twa merkis, till Jok Wode twenty four schillyngis, till Jok Cragy twenty schyllingis, till Sande Browne threten schillingis ten pennys, till Jok Cuthbert twa schillingis, till Wille Mar sex schyllingis aucht pennys, till Marzone Cowe four schillingis aucht pennys, till Jone Dot four schillingis sevyn pennys and halfe a boll of mele, till Johne Galowa threten schillingis four pennys, till Magis Wile thre schillyngis sex penys, till Esobell Trale threty twa pennys, till Criste tene pennys a ½d, till Master Dauid Monypenny twenty schillingis, till the kyrk werk fyve schillingis, till Henry Kenlowy ten schillingis, till Henry Foulys aucht schillingis ten pennys, for the quhilkis sustentatioun and dettis payn ffor hyr, the said Elisabeth lady has gevyne till the said Alexander, hyr douchirsone, all and hale hyr landys off Dunennow wycht thar pertinentis, all and hale hyr ters off Lucheris, Petmule, Bawot ande Ballaly lyand wychtin the sherefdome of Fyfe, ane wycht all the gudis in Dunennow that pertenys till hyr, that is to say, alevyne bollis off quhet sawyn, fywe chaldyr bollis of atis sawyn, twenty a bole off ber sawyn, fyfe bollys off peis sawyne, sexten oxyne, four ky, thre kalfis, twa hors, threte fyve mylk zowys, twente gymmer and dynmont, a rame, a zeld zou, twenty hoggys, ane wycht the hale houshald callyt vtisile and domicyle; and als the said lady has maid the said Alexander hyr fule assigna of all hyr landis, gudis forsaid, ande in name heroff scho has deliueryt him hyr landys ande gudis off Dunennow in name of all the laffe hyr landis ters and gudis; till the quhilkis poyntmentis ande finale ende of thir condicions forsaid the said lady is sworne till byd at obserue and kep, and neuer tille reuok be hyr gret acht: and the said Alexander has sworne till fulfille obserue and kep all the forsaid condicons and poyntmentis In Witnes heroff till baicht the partis of thir endentouris ramanand wytht the lady and Alexander forsaid the selys of Dauid Monypenny of Kynkele and Peter Mony[penny], hys brother, be baicht the said parteys procuryt, are to put at Dunennow day zer and moneth befor writyne befor thair witnes, Master Robert Lorymar, notar, Schir Johnne Robertsoune, vicar of Dunennow, Schir Wilzame Boswell, chaplane, Dauid Strang, John Lyndesay, Robert Merchale and Johne Browne, wycht diuers; and for the mar securite the said Master Robert Lorymar, notar, has subscriwyt batht the said endentouris and put to hys syng manuale.
