Title |
Letters of Reversion by James Mowat, Agent for the Kirk, and Jonet Hay, his spouse, granting that the third of the Maynis of Vrie called Pathbath (occupied by the said James Mowat) lying in the barony of Vrie and sheriffdom of Kyncardin sold to them and the longer liver in conjunct fee by Johnne Hay of Vrie and Willeame Hay, his eldest son and apparent heir, should be redeemable on payment of the sum of 1000 merks within the parish kirk of the burgh of Abirdene called the Newtoun on 40 days warning, with a letter of tack of said lands, subscribed by the said Johnne and Willeame, and also by Issobell Irving, spouse of Johnne, for 19 years after their entry thereto at a yearly rental of 20 bolls victual (4 bolls bear and 16 bolls oatmeal); consignation if necessary to be in the hands of one of the most responsible bailies of the burgh. It is provided that the granter's acceptation of the alienation and grant of redemption shall not be prejudicial to his kindness as kindly tenant of said lands. At Edinburgh - 1599 |
