Title |
Letters of Sale by Williame Riddell, indweller in Air, brother and heir of umquhile James Riddell, whereby, in consideration of the sum of 800 merks Scots (400 merks of which is contained in the Letter of Reversion discharged infra) paid to him by George Greir, merchant, burgess of Air, he sold to him and Jonet Eglishame, his spouse, and to the longer liver of them in conjunct infeftment, and to the heirs lawfully gotten or to be gotten betwixt them, whom failing, to the heirs and assignees of the said George whomsoever, the subjects in No. GD86/333, which are described as follows:- "All and Hail my tenement of land vnder and above with the pertinentis lyand within the said burgh of Air, vpone the eistsyd of the Kingis Streit, betuix the tenement of vmquhile Johnne Pettiecruif now Adame Stewart on the south and ane pairt and the tenement of vmquhile George Blair now Williame Rysyd on the north and vther pairt; and sixlyk all and haill my south half piece zard of the blak freiris zard of the said burgh vpone the baksyd on the said tenement, lyand betuix the land of vmquhile Johnne Pettiecruif and Thomas Stenesoun on the south and ane pairt and the land of the said vmquhile George Blair and Johnne Blair on the north and vther pairtis, extending in lenth to thriescoir sex elnis, and in breid at the heid to ten elnis with the fourt pairt of ane quarter of ane eln, and in the middis to nyne elnis with thrie quarteris and ane half of ane eln, and in the end toward the eist to aucht elnis and ane half and the tuelf pairt of ane eln". He also discharged the letter of reversion containing the sum of 400 merks Scots granted by the said George Greir and spouse for redemption of the above subjects in virtue of a contract (dated 19 May 1599) entered into between them, and ratified the infeftment and sasine made to them of the above subjects on 19th May 1599.
