Title |
Precept of Sasine by Cuthbert Coninghame, provost of the Collegiate Church of Dumbartane, with consent of the prebendaries thereof, narrating that by inquest made at command of the king by Robert Stewart, David Brysoun, James Chalmeris and Alexander Douglas, ordinary macers before the Lords of Council and Session, and sheriffs of the sheriffdom of Dumbartane in that part conform to royal commission in their favour, and retoured to Chancery, it was found that John Cunynghame of Drumquhassill is nearest and lawful heir of the late John Coninghame of Drumquhassill, his father, in the lands and others described in No. GD86/251; that he is of lawful age; that the said lands are now worth £6:13:4 Scots annually, and were worth as much in time of peace; and that the said lands are held of the said provost and prebendaries in feu-farm for payment annually of £3 Scots to the provost and his successors, £3 Scots to the prebendaries and their successors, 13/4d. Scots in augmentation of the rental of the church and provostry, and a double of the said feuduty on the entry of heirs and assignees to said lands: He therefore in obedience to precept of chancery commanded David Conynghame of Ibirt and John Logan apparent of Drumchapl, his bailie in that part, to give sasine to the said John Conynghame as heir to his father in said lands.
