Title |
Obligation by William Sinklar, Master of Cathnes and baron of Newbrough, whereby, on the narrative that he had set the fishings of the Crukkit-furd within the Watter of Ichane to William, Earl of Erole, in feufarm for payment of four merks yearly, he bound himself, in the event of his vexing or troubling the Earl in his peaceable "bruking and josing" thereof, to pay to him the sum of £300 Scots, "nocht in nayme of payne bot for his costis and skaichis sustenyt in the said mater, to be rasyt destrenzeit and away had .... withtout ony offiser of law spirituale and temporale, withtin fourti dais efter it be knawin in the law that I myn ayris or ony in our nayme mak ony impediment as said is".
