Title |
Charter by Richard Wardlaw of Wareistoun, granting to Elizabeth Wardlaw and Agnes Wardlaw, his daughters, their heirs and assignees, his lands of Wareistoun, with meadows, houses, buildings, yards and pertinents, lying in the barony of Renfrew by annexation and within the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, under reservation of his own liferent therein and of the liferent of Agnes Mowbray, his spouse, in one-half of said lands in terms of their marriage contract, with power to the granter and the heirs male of his body to redeem said lands by payment of the sum of 2000 merks Scots in the church of St. Giles, Edinburgh, on 10 days warning, and to his assignees to redeem in like manner by payment of 6000 merks Scots: To be held a me for payment of the service used and wont: With precept of sasine addressed to Alexander Dalmohoy of that Ilk, his bailie in that part. Witnesses, Alexander Dalmohoy of that Ilk, William Wardlaw of Ricartoun, Mr. Samuel Wardlaw, his brother-german, John Dalmohoy, burgess of Edinburgh, and Alexander Lawsoun and Mr. James Eistoun, writers and notaries public.
