Title |
Charter of Sale by Patrick Cunyghame, son of the late William Cunyghame of Aikkat, with consent of Margaret Montgomerie, his spouse, whereby in implement of a contract (dated at Dunbertane 22nd October 1594) he sold to David Cwnyghame of Robertland and Jean Cwnyghame, his spouse, and the longer liver of them in conjunct infeftment, and the heirs lawfully procreated or to be procreated between them, whom failing, to the lawful and nearest heirs of the said David whomsoever, one-seventh part of the lands of Watterland, Halkat and Heissilbank, extending to a fifteen shilling and three penny land of old extent or thereabout, with one-seventh part of the mill, multures and sequels thereof, lying in the parish of Dunlop, bailiary of Cwnyghame and sheriffdom of Air: To be held a me for payment to the king as prince and stewart of Scotland of the service of ward and relief: With precept of sasine addressed to John Howie in Mirrehill. Witnesses, Robert Cwnyghame, son of Patrick Cwnyghame of the temple lands in Kylmaris, Donald Cwnyghame of Aikinbar, Archibald Cwnyghame, his son and heir apparent, John Cwnyghame, servitor to the said David, John Hart in Bwquhannane, John Blair servitor of the said Patrick, Walter Watsone and Mr James Cwnyghame, notaries public.
Margaret Montgomerie signs with her hand touching the pens of Mr. James Cwnyghame and Walter Watsone, notaries public.
