Title |
Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of Andrew Ker, notary public, narrating that John Hardye, younger, burgess of Edinburgh, resigned an acre of land, with houses, buildings, yards, tofts, crofts and a particate of land called the Lintrig, which pertained to John Hardie, elder, his father, in liferent, and to himself in fee, lying in the barony of Levingstoune and sheriffdom of Lynlythqw, between the part called Blak Adieflatt on the east, the Kirkstyle of the church of Levingston on the west, the common highway leading to Caldour on the south, and the lands of the Mains of Lewyngston on the north, into the hands of James Hammiltone of Levingstoune, superior thereof, in favour of himself (the resigner) and Isobell Carrudderis, his spouse, and the longer liver of them in conjunct infeftment and the heirs lawfully procreated or to be procreated between them, whom failing, the lawful and nearest heirs of the said John whomsoever: whereupon the superior gave them sasine accordingly, in terms of the charter to be granted to them, upon the ground of said lands on 29 December 1575, under reservation of the liferent of the said John Hardie, elder |
