Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of John Mvr, clerk of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating a precept from the chancery of King James VI (dated at Edinburgh 2nd February a.r. 7, 1573-4) addressed to the bailie of Conynghame and his deputes, for infefting John Dunlope as heir of Henry Dunlope, his father, in 1/7th part of the nine merklands of old extent of Watterlandis and Halkattis, lying in the parish of Dunlope, bailiary of Conynghame and sheriffdom of Air, taking security for £96:10:6 for the ferms of said lands which were in the hands of the Crown for the space of 17 years or thereby (viz:- for 17 years by reason of ward and for one year without sasine being recovered) and for £5: 6: 8 of relief. Sasine given by Hugh Montgomerie of Auchinhuid, bailie depute of Conynghame, on 22nd April 1574, upon the ground of the lands of Watterlandis |
