Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Mr. William Houstoun, of the diocese of Glasgow, notary, following upon and narrating a precept in a charter (dated at Leith 10th March 1571) by Cuthbert Cunynghame, provost of the Collegiate Church of Dunbertane, with consent of [King James VI, Earl of Levenax, patron of the said church, and by John, Earl of Mar, Regent of the Kingdom], granting to John Cunynghame of Drumquhassill [the five merklands of old extent of] Ladietoun with teind sheaves thereof [in the parish of Bonyll the 40 shilling land of old extent of] Ferkinche and [the 40 shilling lands of old extent of] Stukroggert, [in the parish of Lus, the 40 shilling lands of old extent of] Ballernikbeg, [in the parish of Cardross] and [the 5 merklands of old extent of] Knokderibarbur [in the parish of Roseneath] extending to 19 merklands of old extent, [all lying in the sheriffdom of Dunbertane]. Sasine given by John Macgregar of Ardinconnall, bailie of the granter, upon the ground of said lands on 9th April 1572 to Gilbert McCaulaye, attorney for the grantee |

Description |
The charter is signed by the granter, the Regent, Sir Andra Robesoun, Johnne Cuik and Sir Collein Schaw. Witnesses to the sasine, John Aychinros in Dunbertane, Peter Colquhoun, there, and Patrick Mccaulaye, son of Alexander Makcaulay alias Air.
