Title |
Precept of Sasine by John Home of Blacader, addressed to Thomas Home of Corsrig, his bailie in that part, narrating that he, with consent of Mr. Archibald Home, rector of Dunce, his son and apparent heir, had sold to Captain David Home, his son, and the heirs male to be lawfully procreated of his body, whom failing, to his heirs male bearing the name and arms of Home, and their assignees, the lands of Fischeweik with the fishings thereof lying in the sheriffdom of Beruik: To be held de me, rendering therefor one penny Scots in name of blench-farm to the granter, and the feu-farm duties used and wont to the prior or commendator of Coldinghame. He therefore commanded his bailie to give sasine accordingly. At Blacader 2nd May 1571 |

Witnesses, Robert Myltoun and Alexander Robesoun, servitors of the granter and Gilbert Thorntoun, notary public. Signed by the granter, and his son, and two of the witnesses. The seals of the granter and his son are appended. (1) Hume, John of Blackadder 1 and 4. Three papingos. 2 and 3. A lion rampant. Dividing the quarters a cross engrailed. Ornament at top and sides of shield. Legend (Caps) S Iohannes Home.
