Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of John Blair, clerk of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating a precept of chancery (dated at Hadingtoun 5 November 1568) addressed to the sheriff of Air and his bailies for infefting David Craufurd as heir of line and taillie to David Craufurd of Kers, his father, in the lands of Annean, one-half of the lands of Litill Schallocht, the lands of Auchin[reoch], Glenheid with the mill of Carrikmvre, the lands of Balthomas, Kirkbryd, Hogistoun and the [half merkland] of Byre of Thomastoun, extending to £10 lands of old extent, with one half of the mill thereof, lying in the earldom of Carrik and sheriffdom of Air, which are held of the king as prince and earl of Carrik; and commanding them to take security for 8 bolls of grain and 2 pairs of white spurs being a double of the blench-ferm duties. Sasine given by Robert Campbell of Cragdow, sheriff-depute of Air, on 9 November 1568, to Alan Cathcart of Drumiowane, attorney for the said David Craufurd, constituted by letters of attorney from Chancery dated at Madingtoun 5 November 1568, on the ground of the lands of Hogistoun |
