Title |
Retour of Inquest held in the Tolbooth of the burgh of Lauder on 27th April 1568 by Alexander Alane, bailie depute of the bailiary of Lauderdale within the sheriffdom of Berwik; finding that Thomas Ker was nearest and lawful heir of Mr. George Ker of Nethir Howden, his father, who died in January 1563, in the lands of Nethir Howden with pertinents lying in the bailiary and sheriffdom foresaid, which were held in capite of the abbot or commendator and convent of the monastery of Calco for payment yearly of £15 Scots and three suits at the three chief courts of Calco in name of feu-farm, with a double thereof on the first year of the entry of heirs thereto |
