Title |
Charter of Confirmation under the Great Seal of Mary, Queen of Scots, confirming a Charter (dated at Blaknes 22nd October 1563) by James Hammyltoun, son and heir apparent of James Hammyltoun of Kincawill, with consent of his father, whereby, in implement of a Contract of Marriage (dated at Edinburgh 12th October 1563) between the granter and his father, on the one part, and Patrick Cokburne of Clerkingtoun, Elizabeth Danielstoun, his spouse, and Agnes Cokburne, their daughter, on the other part, he granted to the said Agnes, his future spouse, in liferent, the Mains of Levingstoun with the peill thereof, fortalice, manorplace, etc. lying in the sheriffdom of Linlithqw: To be held a me for services used and wont. The Charter of Confirmation is dated at Perth 12th May, 1564 |
