Title |
Charter by William, Earl of Erole, constable of Scotland, Lord le Haya and Baron of Colly, granting to his paternal uncle William de Haya his lands and mill of Vry with pertinents viz:- Rochclooke, Fyndelawistone, Balmageithe, Carnetone, Glichnoche, Munquhoiche, Rothnyke, Aucheredy and Magraa, with the mill of Colly and pertinents, together with certain lands formerly pertaining to ......... Ymbre lying in the barony of Erole; the annualrent of Logy and 20 shillings to be taken annually from the two Munquhalis for which the inhabitants of the said towns may grindfree of charge at the mill of Colly, paying the customary multure and repairing the stone and wood-work and water lead of said mill; and an annualrent of 4 shillings from a croft in the town of Colly, which Thomas Besate formerly held of him in fee, lying in the said barony of Colly and sheriffdom of Kincardin: which lands and annualrents were the property of his said uncle, who resigned them into his hands in the church of Crowdane on 30th March 1456 in presence of Alexander de Haya of Dronlaw, Alexander de Haya of Munquhalys, William Rede of Colistone, Alexander de Setone, David de Stratone, Andrew Childe and David Colyson, burgesses of Aberdeen: To be held to the said William and the heirs male lawfully procreated or to be procreated of his body whom failing to return to the granter and his lawful heirs whomsoever, de nobis in fee and heritage and in ward and relief of the barony of Erole: Reserving the forinsec service due to the king and rendering to the granter and his heirs one suit annually at the chief court held at Erole after Easter: The granter gives his lands of Slanys in warrandice. |
