Title |
Renunciation (in Scots) by William the Haya of Wry whereby in virtue of certain contracts and appointments entered into between William Earl of Erroll, constable of Scotland, and Lord the Haya and him, he quitclaimed and annulled the charters and letters of sasine by which the Earl granted to him the barony of Colly in the sheriffdom of Kyncardin, to be held of the King in free barony, and also the royal confirmation following thereon, and granted that they should be of no value strength or effect. It is also provided that if the granter or his heirs should claim to hold the said lands in barony of the king, they should pay £1000 Scots before they were heard in judgment, the said sum being raised from the barony, which he grants to be held of the Earl and his heirs in terms of the charters granted to him by Sir William the Haya, knight, his father. |
