Title |
Decreet Arbitral pronounced by Robert, bishop of Orknay, and David Bruce of Clakmannane, knight, arbiters chosen by David Bruce of Kynnarde and Mr. Edward Bruce of Eister Kennett, conform to "compromit" (of the date of these presents) under the hand of Mr. Petir Galbraith, notary public, to decide what sum the latter should give to the former for two reversions granted by the late David Bruce of Kennett to John Brady (Brydie), who assigned them to the said David Bruce of Kynnarde, who sold them to Mr. Edward, the one containing the sum of 80 merks for redemption of the lands of Hiltouncroft and the other the sum of 20 merks for redemption of the lands called the Craghill, lying in the sheriffdom of Clakmnannane: in consideration of the sum of 40 merks to be paid by Mr. Edward to David Bruce by Martinmas 1555, the latter is decerned to grant to him a letter of alienation of the said two reversions and to transfer to him his right to the mails, profits and duties of said lands since the redemption.
