Title |
Instrument of Redemption under the hand of Patrick Andrew, clerk of the diocese of St. Andrews, notary public, narrating that John McMyllane in Brokloch acknowledged that he had received from Hugh Cathcart of Erve the sum of 100 merks Scots for redemption of the merkland of old extent of Knokskaith, with pertinents, lying in the barony of Dalmellingtoun and sheriffdom of Aire, and granting that the said lands were lawfully redeemed in terms of the letters of reversion. Further narrating that the said John resigned the lands into the hands of the said Hugh, and delivered to him the precept, instrument of sasine and charter. Done in the chamber of John McAdame in Clauchane of Dalmellingtoun on 22nd March 1544-5 |
