Title |
Precept of Sasine by James, Lord of St. John, knight, preceptor of the House of Jerusalem of Torphichen, addressed to David Roddocht and Robert Kere, bailies in that part, for infefting Patrick Bruce, son of David Bruce of Clakmannane, and Margaret Falconare, his spouse, and the longer liver of them in conjunct infeftment, and the heirs and assignees of the said Patrick whomsoever, in an acre of templar land with houses, buildings, yards and pertinents, lying within the lands of the Grene, barony of Clakmannane and sheriffdom thereof, between the croft called Boyis-croft on the west, the Smeiddie-land on the east, the land called Mortymersyde on the south and the common highway on the north: which acre was the property of Patrick Bruce of Grene, and was resigned by him into the hands of the granter at Edinburgh. The granter's seal is attached. A figure of St. John the Baptist. Beneath a shield bearing arms:- 1 and 4. A bend. 2 and 3. A heart, on a chief three stars. Above the quarters a chief charged with the cross of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. Legend (Caps.). S. IACOBI. SANDELANDIS. M(ILIS IH)ERVSALE D. ET. PRECEPTOR. DE.
