Title |
Discharge by Dame Margret Howme, prioress of the abbey of Northt Berwyk, and the convent thereof, granting that they had received from Alexander Howme, brother german of Patrik Howme of Polwart, (1) the sum of £57 Scots in payment of the feu mails of the lands and mains of the Hewht, extending to 23½ husband lands, with the north meadow and law pertaining thereto, lying in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh and constabulary of Haddington, for the terms of Martinmas 1551 and Whitsunday 1552 and (2) 2 chalders wheat and 2 chalders bear in payment of the ferms of the teind sheaves for the terms foresaid. Authenticated by the seal of office of the prioress and by her subscription "Dem Margret Howme vytht my hand led at the pen be Schir Robert Lawder notar publick". At Northt Berwyk 3 August 1553 |
