Title |
Instrument under the hand of Stephen Prestoune, clerk of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, narrating that Donald Campbell and Thomas Kennedy, burgesses of Air, who each claimed right to the yard-dike between their respective tenements in the said burgh, with consent of their co-burgesses, elected, nominated and ordained William Hammiltoun of Sanchar, knight, to determine and decreet between them to whom the foresaid dike and the land upon which it was built, pertained and obliged themselves to abide by his decision and to implement and observe it in all points: The said William Hammiltoun thereupon pronounced and decreed that the foresaid yard-dike and the land upon which it was built pertained to the said Donald Campbell and his heirs, but providing that they should keep the said Thomas and his heirs scathless and unmolested in time coming. Done in the cemetery of the Friars Minor of said burgh on 4th September 1551 |
