Title |
I. Brieve by Queen Mary addressed to the provost and bailies of the burgh of Edinburgh, commanding them to hold an inquest for finding out if William Crechtoun was heir of John Crechtoun of Davidstoun, his uncle, in the lands and annualrents in which he died vest and seised. At Edinburgh 20th January 1549-50; and II. Retour of said Inquest made on lOth February 1549-50 in the tolbooth of the burgh of Edinburgh before John Prestoun, one of the bailies of said burgh, finding that the said John Crechtoun died at the peace and faith of the king, that the said William Crechtoun, is his lawful and nearest heir and that he is of lawful age |
